After earning her B.S. degree in fashion design from Drexel University, she designed apparel for various companies for 12 years. That prompted her to move to New York City, where she embarked upon a totally new career as a professional running coach and certified personal trainer. As Coach Mindy, she founded The Running Center in Manhattan, a specialty training studio for runners, where she coached thousands of people to fulfill their dreams of running from one mile to the marathon. As a competitive runner, she ran six marathons and won age-group awards in distances from 5K to the half-marathon. For 17 years, she lead a fitness walking program that she created for the American Museum of Natural History in NYC. After 25 years in NYC, she returned to her hometown of Philadelphia and re-kindled her fashion career as the personal stylist at Macy’s in Philly. Using her fitness and running background of understanding movement, helped her to select the proper clothing for clients, to enhance their body image and improve their self-esteem. Last year, Coach Mindy became a certified health coach to broaden her offerings to include guidance on nutrition and wellness.
