I've spent years coaching women through hormone change and diving into the science to get answers for active women like you. The result is the Fit for Life  program. The program uses the Mindset, Nutrition, Training and Recovery - Integrated Training System (MNTR-ITS), a learning to action platform that educate, inspires and support your goals. Going through this system makes it easy for you to link how you eat, exercise and recover with hormone change. You will know what is happening in your body so that you can prioritize actions and play to your best! This step-by-step approach will give you the confidence to move, nourish and thrive in perimenopause and beyond!

This partnership with Tall Tree Integrated Health Centre brings integrated and pro-active health care, lifestyle and sport performance together. The health snapshot at Tall Tree includes:

  • Initial intake and assessment, with a follow-up with Dr. Marita Schauch, ND
  • Baseline Lab work which could include: thyroid, cardiometabolic, inflammation biomarkers as determined by ND
  • DEXA Scan, Metabolic and VO2 Max Test and Report
  • Functional Movement Screen with Certified Kinesiologist

Equipped with this 360¬į health snapshot, Tenille and the Tall Tree team will ensures seamless¬†integration of the findings into priority actions¬†that you can take to create sustainable change.

Tall Tree Cost: Approximately $700+GST  (depends on indiv. Insurance)

This three month program applies evidence-based science in female physiology, nutrition, exercise and recovery so you can support your body through hormone change, address challenges and achieve your personal strength and fitness goals. What it includes and what we accomplish:

  • Six-week intensive integrated health, lifestyle and sport performance coaching.
  • Prioritize your actions in nutrition, exercise and recovery¬†to find lasting change.
  • Extensive resources on mindset, nutrition, training & recovery all with the female in mind.
  • Three months training in strength, cycling or triathlon, coach support and accountability.¬†¬†

Through integrated action, overcome barriers, find joy, connection to your body and harness your immense physical capabilities at this stage of life!

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE MNTR | ITS

HEALTH FUNDAMENTALS +

Affirm your Health fundamentals by ensuring the most critical components of what brings energy to our being are on point. You will explore the latest science on breathing, sleep and gut health. Learn how your reproductive life stage (pre- / peri- / or post-menopause) impacts your training, nutrition and recovery.

TRAIN IN HEALTH +

Specifically you learn how to nourish your body and how to time your nutrition so you can feel good in your body again. You will remove the chronic ‚Äúhard‚ÄĚ training and change it to kick-your-ass intensity and blissful metabolically optimal aerobic training. It is time to learn and apply how to manipulate energy intake and expenditure to align with your body, your environment and your goals.

TRAIN FOR PERFORMANCE +

Training to achieve a personal best is different than training in health. If you want to take your training to the next level, you can lean deeper into the edge of incremental gains of strength, power and endurance. You learn how to add nutrition and/or supplement support to keep your immune system strong and body adapting to stress. You will take on the work to develop a mindset for excellence on demand. You will rise to the challenges you set with courage and tenacity.

MINDSET +

Nothing works if we don’t have a mindset to thrive. The starting point is identifying your values. Without clarity of values you may struggle to respond to challenge and setbacks. You can get stuck in negative self-talk and untruths. Then we set intentions/goals that are connected to the awareness we have built around our priorities and our challenges.

This program will give you the knowledge so that you can take intentional and targeted action. You will move from uncertain, fatigued, injury-prone or plateau to confident, strong and feeling good at what you accomplish. You will know exactly what to look forward in training programs so you get what you need.  If you are a cyclist, runner or triathlete you can also choose to add on one of our female specific training programs (see Coaching) so you can achieve any lifestyle or performance goal you want!

We developed the MNTR-ITS so every female athlete from recreational to elite has access to the most current science and evidence-based information in mindset, nutrition, training and recovery and can apply it to their life. This system is structured to increase accountability (and success!) and moves you from the fundamentals of health to optimal performance in sport. 

This program is a system and meant to be repeated again and again as you go through different life stages, have different priorities and stressors.

IN THIS INTERVIEW WITH DR. CATHY UTZSCHNEIDER FOR BOSTON COLLEGE

Cathy Utzschneider took up competitive running after age 40 and quickly made up for lost time, racking up nine USATF national age group championships (including track, road, and cross-country), a silver medal at the Nike World Masters Games, and a gold medal at the North American World Regional Championships. She is now a professor at Boston College and Lead M.O.V.E. Certification. She asked Tenille to speak to her class in Spring of 2024!  This was the interview.
